King Cetshwayo District Mayor Cllr Nonhle Mkhulisi presented the State of the District Address in Mthonjaneni Local Municipality on 15 June 2018. Giving hope to the almost one million residents of the King Cetshwayo District, the vision for the district is to ensure that by 2035 the district will have advanced its plans for cohesiveness, economic viability, job creation through radical economic transformation, rural development and promotion of our heritage. The key driver for this growth is the investment in sustainable strategic infrastructure, which forms the core of the district’s R1 billion Rand budget for the 2018/2019. As a water services authority and provider of water and sanitation for four of the five local municipalities in the King Cetshwayo district, the district’s budget is focused on an expansive programme to eradicate backlogs and enhance the standard of living of our communities. The State of the District Address spells out the blueprint for the progressive and transformational vision that the district has committed itself to. Having achieved 100% sanitation in the municipalities of Mthonjaneni, Nkandla and uMfolozi, Mayor Mkhulisi is confident of taking even greater strides towards the attainment of steady growth, investment and development in our region.
